Best way to explain time complexity in an interview?

Asked 8h agoViewed 542 times

I understood why my solution was O(n log n) but completely tripped over explaining it out loud in a mock interview.

How do you practice narrating complexity analysis without sounding like you're just reciting Big-O rules?

I practice by explaining the loop structure first in plain English ("we sort once, then scan once") and only then attach the Big-O label. Saying the mechanism out loud before the label made it click for me.
